Project Background:

  • The current baling machine is small and powered by fuel, which is less efficient and more costly compared to electric-powered equipment. Upgrading to a larger, electric-powered machine will not only improve efficiency but also create more job opportunities as the machine requires a higher input of materials. Additionally, the current machine is loud and disruptive, while a newer model would operate more quietly and efficiently.
  • The mechanical scale currently in use is also outdated and inaccurate. Upgrading to digital scales will ensure more precise measurements, improving transparency and accountability in the recycling process.
